            THIS SEASON BEGINS SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 14TH. THERE WILL BE APPROXIMATELY 30 WEEKS WITH THE SEASON ENDING IN THE BEGINNING OF MAY.   PLAYOFFS WILL BE HELD IN MAY AND THE PAIRINGS WILL BE ANNOUNCED THEN.  **ALL TEAMS WILL BE CHARGED $105.00 FOR EACH AND EVERY GAME, TO BE PAID IN FULL BEFORE THE START OF EVERY GAME**. A TWO GAME DEPOSIT IS REQUIRED BEFORE ENTERING THE LEAGUE AND MUST BE ON HAND AT HOCKEYTOWN AT ALL TIMES. (TOTAL DEPOSIT = $210.00) THIS DEPOSIT CAN ONLY BE USED FOR THE LAST TWO GAMES OF THE SCHEDULE OF WHICH YOU HAVE PLAYED THE FIRST GAME, UNLESS OTHERWISE AGREED UPON BY THE MANAGER.

            HOCKEYTOWN USA WILL PROVIDE TO THE BEST OF IT’S ABILITY ALL SCHEDULING OF GAMES, A SCOREBOARD, TWO REFEREES, AND THE REST OF THE EQUIPMENT REQUIRED FOR THE GAME OF STREET HOCKEY; DASHERBOARDS, GLASS, NETS, BENCHES, ETC. IN THE EVENT OF A TEAM NOT SHOWING UP FOR A SCHEDULED CONTEST, DUE TO CIRCUMSTANCES BEYOND THE CONTROL OF THE MANAGEMENT, THE TEAM THAT IS PRESENT HAS THE OPTION OF USING THE SURFACE FOR THEIR SHARE OF THE BILL OR NOT PLAYING AT ALL WITH NO OBLIGATION TO PAY.  EITHER WAY THE TEAM PRESENT WILL WIN THE CONTEST BY FORFEIT (1-0.)  THE TEAM NOT PRESENT WILL BE CHARGED THEIR SHARE OF THE BILL REGARDLESS.

            NO TEAM WILL ACTUALLY BE CONSIDERED “IN” THE LEAGUE UNTIL THE COMMISSIONER OF THE LEAGUES HAS OK’ED EACH TEAM.  TEAMS CURRENTLY PLAYING IN THE LEAGUES HAVE PRIORITY PROVIDED THE TEAM HAS A FULL DEPOSIT AND NOTIFIED HOCKEYTOWN BY FILLING OUT THE PROPER APPLICATION BY SEPTEMBER 1, 2014.

            ANY PLAYER OR SPECTATOR WHO PROPELS ANY OBJECT FROM ANY RINK WILL BE SUBJECT TO PERMANENT SUSPENSIONS FROM THE BUILDING.

SENIOR STREET HOCKEY LEAGUE RULES

 

ALL GAMES WILL BE PLAYED UNDER THE AMERICAN STREET HOCKEY INSTITUTE RULES AS PUBLISHED WITH NO CHECKING ALLOWED AND THE FOLLOWING HOUSE RULES:

 

EACH TEAM MEMBER WILL BE REQUIRED TO REGISTER WITH THE LEAGUE BY POSING FOR A HOCKEYTOWN IDENTIFICATION CARD AND PRESENTING THE OFFICE PERSONNEL WITH EITHER:

A.)    PICTURED I.D. WITH NAME, ADDRESS AND BIRTHDATE

                                 OR

B.)     TWO FORMS OF IDENTIFICATION (ONE WHICH INCLUDES BIRTHDATE, ONE WHICH INCLUDES A PICTURE) HOCKEYTOWN WILL PROCESS THE INFORMATION AND ISSUE AN INDIVIDUAL NUMBERED I.D.CARD. EVERY PLAYER MUST REGISTER FOR AN I.D. CARD FOR EACH SPORT HE PLAYES (ICE HOCKEY, DECKHOCKEY, WIFFLEBALL.) THERE WILL BE A CHARGE OF $5.00 FOR EACH CARD. ALL PLAYERS MUST HAVE THEIR CARDS PRIOR TO PARTICIPATING IN LEAGUE PLAY.

 

1.)  ONLY THOSE PLAYERS WHO HAVE SIGNED THE MASTER ROSTER, A LIABILITY WAIVER AND HAVE RECEIVED AN I.D. CARD WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR LEAGUE PLAY.  ANY INDIVIDUAL WHO PLAYS IN A LEAGUE GAME BEFORE BEING REGISTERED WILL SUBJECT THE TEAM HE PLAYED FOR TO A FORFEITURE FOR THAT PARTICULAR GAME.

 

2.) FOUR MINOR PENALTIES IN ONE GAME OR A COMBINATION OF ONE MAJOR PLUS TWO MINOR WILL RESULT IN A GAME MISCONDUCT.

 

3.) INDIVIDUAL PLAYERS WHO ARE GIVEN FIVE MISCONDUCTS DURING THE COURSE OF THE SEASON, INCLUDING PLAYOFFS, WILL BE SUSPENDED FOR TWO GAMES.  FOR EACH ADDITIONAL MISCONDUCT GIVEN AFTER THAT POINT THE GAME SUSPENSION WILL INCREASE BY THAT NUMBER OF MISCONDUCTS GIVEN. (FOR THE PURPOSE OF THIS RULE ALL GAME MISCONDUCTS WILL CONSTITUTE TWO MISCONDUCTS.)

 

4.) TWO FIGHTS FOR ANY INDIVIDUAL, REGARDLESS OF WHAT TEAM THEY PLAY ON, WILL CONSTITUTE SUSPENSION FROM ALL LEAGUES FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE SEASON OR SIX (6) MONTHS WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

 

5.) SUSPENSIONS REGARDING TEAMS AND INDIVIDUALS WILL BE DECIDED BY THE MANAGEMENT AS IT SEES FIT.

 

6.) ANY PLAYER NOT HAVING THE SAME TEAM JERSEY WITH A NUMBER ON THE BACK WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PLAY.  NO NUMBERS MAY BE WRITTEN OR TAPED ON JERSEYS, ALSO, JERSEYS CANNOT BE SWAPPED FROM PLAYER TO PLAYER DURING A GAME.  A SET OF NUMBERED PULLOVERS WILL BE MADE AVAILABLE TO TEAMS WITHOUT JERSEYS. HOWEVER, THERE WILL BE A CHARGE OF $10.00 (PLUS A DRIVERS LICENSE WILL BE REQUIRED AS A DEPOSIT) FOR THE USE OF THE JERSEYS.  TO AVOID THESE CHARGES WE STRONGLY SUGGEST THAT YOU BRING EXTRA TEAM JERSEYS WITH YOU FOR EACH GAME. IN THE CASE WHERE BOTH TEAMS HAVE THE SAME COLOR JERSEYS THERE WILL BE A COIN TOSS TO DETERMINE WHICH TEAM WILL WEAR THE PULLOVERS AT NO CHARGE, BUT A

 

DEPOSIT WILL STILL BE REQUIRED. ( THERE WILL BE A $10.00 CHARGE FOR EVERY JERSEY NOT RETURNED.)

 

6A.) GOALTENDERS MUST WEAR THE SAME COLOR JERSEY AS THEIR TEAM.

 

7.) ALL GAMES WILL CONSIST OF THREE 10 MINUTE STOP TIME PERIODS.  AFTER THE SECOND PERIOD TIME WILL COMMENCE TO RUNNING TIME WHENEVER THERE IS A FIVE GOAL DIFFERENCE.  WHENEVER THERE HAVE BEEN 18 OR MORE PENALTIES CALLED IN THE GAME, REGARDLESS OF THE PERIOD, THE GAME WILL REVERT TO RUNNING TIME.  THE CLOCK WILL RUN DURING ANY AND ALL ALTERCATIONS.

 

7A.) EACH TEAM WILL BE ALLOWED ONE (1) THIRTY (30) SECOND TIME OUT PER GAME WHICH MAY BE USED AT ANY TIME DURING A GAME.

 

7B.) ALL GAMES ENDING IN A TIE WILL HAVE ONE 2 MINUTE 30 SECOND SUDDEN DEALTH OVERTIME. 4 on 4.

 

8.) THE CLOCK WILL BEGIN FIVE MINUTES AFTER THE PREVIOUS GAME TIME ENDS, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER OR NOT THE TEAMS ARE READY TO PLAY.  ANY TEAM NOT BEING READY WILL RECEIVE A MINOR PENALTY FOR DELAY OF GAME.  AT THE FIVE MINUTE MARK OF THE FIRST PERIOD, IF THE TEAM IS STILL NOT READY, THEY MUST FORFEIT THE GAME.  BOTH TEAMS WILL STILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYMENT AND MUST ALSO PLAY OUT THE REMAINDER OF THE GAME.

 

9.) ALL MISCONDUCT PENALTIES WILL CONSIST OF FIVE MINUTES.

 

10.) ALL MAJOR PENALTIES WILL BE TWO AND A HALF MINUTES.

 

11.) ALL MINOR PENALTIES WILL BE ONE MINUTE.

 

12.) ALL PENALTIES START WHEN THE BALL IS PUT INTO PLAY FOLLOWING THAT STOPPAGE OF PLAY.

13.) FIGHTING IS FORBIDDEN. ANY PLAYER CALLED DOR A FIGHTING PENALTY WILL BE EJECTED FOR THE REMAINDER OF THAT GAME AND THE AND THE NEXT SCHEDULED CONTEST (AT LEAST ONE GAME.)  A SECOND FIGHT WILL CONSTITUTE SUSPENSION FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE SEASON OR SIX (6) MONTHS WHICH EVER IS GREATER. SUSPENSIONS ARE APPLIED TO ALL LEAGUES.

14.) IN THE EVENT OF A FIGHT, IF THERE IS AN OBVIOUS AGGRESSOR AS DETERMINED BY THE REFEREES, THAT PLAYER WILL BE SUSPENDED FOR A MINIMUM OF FIVE GAMES.

15.) INTIMIDATION OF ANY REFEREE (ANYWHERE ON HOCKEYTOWN PROPERTY) SUCH AS THREATENING, WAVING A STICK, VERBAL ABUSE, PUSHING OR STRIKING AN OFFICAIAL IN ANY WAY WILL RESULT IN A MINIMUM SUSPENSION OF TEN GAMES.

16.) ANY PLAYER WHO IN THE JUDGEMENT OF A REFEREE DELIBERATELY ATTEMPTS TO INJURE ANOTHER PLAYER (OR ANYONE ELSE) WILL BE SUSPENDED FOR AT LEAST FIVE GAMES.

17.) ANY PLAYER, COACH OR MANAGER WHO REFUSES TO LEAVE THE RINK AREA AFTER BEING GIVEN A GAME MISCONDUCT OR GAME DISQUALIFICATION WILL SUBJECT HIS TEAM TO A POSSIBLE GAME FORFEITURE TO THE OPPOSING TEAM REGARDLESS OF THE SCORE.

18.) ANY PLAYER USING HIS STICK AS A WEAPON WILL BE SUSPENDED FOR AT LEAST THE ENTIRE SEASON (INCLUDING PLAYOFFS.)

19.) A MASTER ROSTER MUST BE HANDED IN AT THE BEGINNING OF THE SEASON, SIGNED BY EACH INDIVIDUAL PLAYER. ROSTERS ARE LIMITED TO TWENTY-TWO PLAYERS MAXIMUM AND ELEVEN PLAYERS MINIMUM.  PLAYERS MAY BE ADDED TO THE ROSTER AT ANY TIME DURING THE REGULAR SEASON PROVIDED THEY HAVE A HOCKEYTOWN PHOTO I.D. AND SIGN THE MASTER ROSTER BEFORE THEY PLAY IN A REGULAR SEASON GAME AND THEY ARE NOT CURRENTLY ON THE  ROSTER OF ANOTHER TEAM IN THE SAME LEAGUE IN WHICH THEY ARE PLAYING, BUT, TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE PLAYOFFS EACH PLAYER MUST HAVE PLAYED IN AT LEAST 1/3 OF THE REGULAR SEASON GAMES, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF GOALTENDERS, THEY MUST HAVE PLAYED IN TWO (2) REGULAR SEASON GAMES.

19A.) ROSTERS ARE RESTRICTED TO 3  DIV I PLAYERS CURRENTLY PLAYING ON A DIV I ROSTER.

19B.) ROSTERS ARE ALSO RESTRICTED TO 1 45 OR OLDER DIV I PLAYER PER TEAM. PLAYERS OVER 50 ARE EXEMPT FROM BEING CLASSIFIED DIV I PLAYERS.

20.) ALL PLAYERS MUST BE 18 YEARS OLD TO BE ELIGIBLE TO PLAY IN THE SENIOR LEAGUE.  THE OVER “30” LEAGUE – ALL PLAYERS MUST HAVE REACHED THEIR 30TH BIRTHDAY BEFORE THEY PLAY IN ANY GAME (GOALIES IN THE OVER “30” LEAGUE CAN BE 25 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER.)

21.) ANY ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ON THE BENCH WILL CONSTITUTE A BENCH MINOR PENALTY AND POSSIBLE FORFEITURE OF THE GAME.  (NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ARE ALLOWED ON PREMISES.)

22.) NO MORE THAN THREE PEOPLE WITHOUT UNIFORMS ARE ALLOWED ON THE BENCH AND THEY MUST HAVE A HOCKEYTOWN PHOTO I.D. CARD. ONE WARNING, THEN A BENCH MINOR PENALTY. PLAYERS THAT ARE SUSPENDED ARE NOT ALLOWED ON THE BENCH, THIS WARRANTS FURTHUER SUSPENSIONS.

23.) ANY TEAM CONSIDERED BY THE MAJORITY OF REFEREES AND MANAGEMENT TO BE EXCESSIVELY ABUSIVE, EITHER PHYSICALLY OR VERBALLY, TOWARDS THE REFEREES, THE OPPOSITION OR THE FACILITY WILL BE SUSPENDED FROM THE LEAGUE PERMANENTLY, AND FORFEIT THEIR DEPOSIT.

23A.) ANY PLAYER, COACH OR SPECTATOR WHO, IN THE OPINION OF THE REFEREE, ABUSES THE FACILITIES SHALL BE SUSPENDED FOR A MINIMUM OF FIVE WEEKS.

24.) ONLY PLAYERS WITH THE PROPER GOALIE EQUIPMENT WILL BE ALLOWED GOALTENDER PRIVILEGES. PROPER EQUIPMENT CONSISTS OF: GOALIE PADS, CATCHING GLOVE AND BLOCKER  AND A FULL FACE MASK.

25.) SUSPENSIONS ISSUED BY THE MANAGEMENT APPLY TO ALL LEAGUES.  IF A TEAM DRAWS A BYE DURING A SUSPENSION, THAT SUSPENSION WILL BE EXTENDED ONE GAME. ANY PLAYER WHO PLAYS WHILE UNDER SUSPENSION WILL BE SUSPENDED INDEFINITELY.

26.) AN INTENTIONAL CHECK (IN THE OPINION OF THE REFEREE) AT THE END OF A GAME WILL RESULT IN A MINIMUM SUSPENSIONS OF ONE GAME.

27.) A MATCH PENALTY GIVEN TO ANY PLAYER IS DEFINED AS A MAJOR PENALTY PLUS A GAME DISQUALIFICATION AND CONSTITUTES THE PLAYER BEING SUSPENDED INDEFINITLY UNTIL BEING REINSTATED BY THE MANAGEMENT NOT THE REFEREE.

28.) LEAGUE STANDINGS WILL BE DETERMINED BY 2 POINTS FOR A WIN, 1 POINT FOR A TIE. TIES IN THE STANDINGS WILL BE BROKEN IN THIS ORDER: MOST WINS, FEWEST LOSES, MOST TIES, LEAST GOALS AGAINST AND MOST GOALS FOR.  IN THE EVENT OF AN UNEQUAL AMOUNT OF GAMES PLAYED DURING THE SEASON THEN WINNING PERCENTAGE WILL BE THE DETERMINING FACTOR IN THE STANDINGS.  IF A TEAM COMES INTO THE LEAGUE LATE, TOTAL POINTS WILL DETERMINE THEIR POSITION.

29.) GAMES WILL BE FORFEITED TO THE OPPOSING TEAM FOR ANY TEAM USING AN INELIGIBLE PLAYER. INELIGIBLE PLAYERS ARE DEFINED AS FOLLOWS: ANY PLAYER NOT ACCOUNTED FOR ON THE GAME ROSTER, ANY PLAYER WHO HAS NOT SIGNED THE MASTER ROSTER (KEPT IN THE OFFICE,) ANY PLAYER WHO DOES NOT HAVE A HOCKEYTOWN PHOTO I.D., ANY PLAYER NOT HAVING SIGNED HOCKEYTOWN’S LIABILITY WAIVER AND ANY PLAYER FOUND PLAYING ON MORE THAN ONE TEAM PER LEAGUE.

30B.) THE CURVATURE OF THE BLADE OF ALL STICKS SHALL BE RESTRICTED IN SUCH A WAY THAT THE DISTANCE OF A PERPENDICULAR LINE MEASURED FROM A STRAIGHT LINE DRAWN FROM THE BASE OF THE HEEL TO THE BASE OF THE TOE AND THE POINT OF MAXIMUM CURVATURE SHALL NOT EXCEED THREE – QUARTER INCH. 

31.) ALL PLAYERS ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR MYLEC SHIN & ANKLE PADS AT ALL TIMES.  FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THIS RULE BY ANY PLAYER MAY CONSTITUTE A GAME FORFEITURE FOR HIS TEAM.  REFEREES MAY GIVE ONE WARNING.

32.) GLOVES (OF ANY KIND) COVERING THE ENTIRE HAND ARE MANDATORY FOR EVERY PLAYER ON THE FLOOR.  FIRST OFFENSE CONSTITITES A MINOR PENALTY, THE SECOND OFFENSE IS A GAME MISCONDUCT.

33.) ANY BLEEDING WOUND MUST BE REMOVED FROM THE GAME UNTIL SUCH TIME THAT WOUND IS COVERED AND BLEEDING IS CONTROLLED. 

33A.) ANY INDIVIDUAL WHO IS PENALIZED FOR SPITTING WILL RECEIVE A GROSS MISCONDUCT AND A MINIMUM FIVE (5) GAME SUSPENSION.

34.) TAG UP RULE WILL BE IN EFFECT.  IF THE BALL ROLLS FREELY ACROSS THE CENTER LINE WITH AN OFFENSIVE PLAYER IN THE OFFENSIVE ZONE AND NO OFFENSIVE PLAYER TOUCHES THE BALL, THE REFEREE CAN CALL A DELAYED OFF-SIDE BY SIMPLY RAISING HIS ARM BUT DOES NOT STOP PLAY.  THE REFEREE SHALL DROP HIS ARM TO NULLIFY THE OFFSIDE VIOLATION AND ALLOW PLAY TO CONTINUE IF: 1. THE DEFENDING TEAM PASSES OR CARRIERS THE BALL INTO THEIR ATTACKING ZONE; 2. ALL OFFENSIVE PLAYERS IN THE ATTACKING ZONE CLEAR THE ZONE BY CROSSING THE BLUE LINE. THE ATTACKING ZONE MUST BE COMPLETELY CLEAR OF OFFENSIVE PLAYERS BEFORE OFFSIDE IS NULLIFIED. (IF BALL ENTERS NET DIRECTLY FROM A SHOT ORIGINATED WHILE TEAMMATES WERE OFFSIDE IT IS NO GOAL.  IF PLAYED BY ANY DEFENSIVE PLAYER AND GOES INTO THE NET THEN THE GOAL IS ALLOWED.)

****THE PLAYOFF FORMAT WILL BE DETERMINED BY MANAGEMENT AFTER REVIEWING THE NUMBER OF DIVISIONS AND THE QUALITY OF THE TEAMS, IN ORDER TO PROVIDE FAIR AND EQUITIBLE COMPETITION FOR ALL TEAMS.  AWARDS AND PLAYOFF SCHEDULES WILL BE DETERMINED BY HOCKEYTOWN MANAGEMENT PRIOR TO THE END OF REGULAR SEASON PLAY.****                                                                                                                                                                                             

  I UNDERSTAND THE ABOVE RULES AND WILL COMPLY WITH ALL OF THEM. I UNDERSTAND THAT IT IS MY RESPONSIBILITY TO INFORM ALL PERSONS ON MY TEAM ROSTERS OF THESE RULES AND TO INFORM THEM THAT THEY MUST ABSOLVE HOCKEYTOWN U.S.A, INC. FROM ANY AND ALL LIABILITIES FOR ANY INJURIES SUSTAINED BY THEM ON THESE PREMISES.
